So my Mom took her Explorer in to get a recall on the power steering fixed and a brake issue. Its been three days now for what we expected to be a 2 day thing. The reason for this, the replacement part for the power steering broke on a test drive for it. Way to instill confidence in you parts Ford...

They ALWAYS blame it on the parts. Tech probably put it in wrong/they didn't get to it right away/put in the wrong part/etc.

That wouldn't surprise me.

Thats what I told my Mom when she told me. She is still very skeptical of the safety of the replacement part now.

I would have her tell the dealer that, or have her call Ford Customer Care (or whatever they call it) and tell them what happened. Make the dealer come clean.
It might be the truth, but where I work when something goes awry in the process usually they blame parts first. Backorder/came in broken/delivery truck was late/etc

I had some oil lump leak or something a month after my Ford purchase. Covered under warranty. However it turned out it was a bad batch from a supplier that suppled the same part to thousands of other models. I wound up with a Grand Marquis for about a month waiting for my part to come in.
